The Friedmann Equations
The Friedmann Equations are solutions to General Relativity which describe the universe’s expansion as a perfect fluid.
The First Friedmann Equation describes the rate of expansion of the universe, but not the acceleration of that rate of expansion.
The Second Friedmann Equation describes the acceleration or deceleration of the rate of expansion (or contraction) and the forces pushing or pulling on the expansion.
